Game Overview - Catching
- Catching a ball does not send the thrower Out.
- Dropping the ball during an attempt to catch it does not send 'catcher' Out.
- A Skater who has Taken a Knee ends his penalty if he catches a legally thrown ball. Said skater may stand and resume playing as he was before Taking a Knee.
Details - Special Cases - Exceptions
Skaters that are Out of Play may not catch balls. A Dodger that has been hit and sent Out must wait until they have moved to the Outfield and have become a Fielder.
When attempting a catch, a skater's hands includes any part of a glove or wrist guard that covers the hands. This does NOT include the ENTIRE glove / wrist guard. Those parts that cover the wrist or arm are excluded. In other words, gloves and wrist guards will not increase nor decrease the area considered to be the skater's hands.
A Skater who has Taken a Knee remains so if he catches a Dead ball (example: catching the ball after a bounce or after it hits another skater.)
